taiwan update

hey guys. so i started my first class for my refresher course before i start my class at the university here. if you want more info on the class i'm starting in september here's a link.

so some facts about taiwan so far (according to me):

-everyone and their mom drives a scooter here
-the drivers here are all freaking crazy!
-public transportation is so much easier here
-as long as you're in taipei, you can see taipei 101 ANYWHERE!

so that's it for now. will try to update as much as i can. stay tuned!

  1. Hi Mike!
Thanks for the update. I have checked almost every night. LOL I have a nighttime computer routine before I go to bed. Now you're part of it! What's Taipei 101? A highway? How did your class go? Do your grandparents speak any English? Enough of my questions! LOL Have a great week, Mike!

  2. hey katie. i'm honored that i'm part of your routine. keep reading and tell all your friends (if you want!)

    1. taipei 101 used to be the tallest building in the world (before stupid dubai took care of that) here's the wikipedia page:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taipei_101

    2. my class is going pretty well. no complaints. my pronunciation right now is pretty bad. i get corrected every few characters.

    3. my grandparents don't really speak english. they only know a few easy words and that's it.

keep up with the questions. it means you're engaging with my blog! :-D

    enjoy your week too,

  3. Hey Mike, I can't even IMAGINE being in such a different culture...YAH to you for DOING it! I realize this is "home" in some sense of the word, but has to be so different. DO you know your grandparents very well? Even though they don't speak much english, aren't we lucky that love transcends language?? Are your grandparents "old school" or "hip and happenin'"?? lol
    Have a great day...

  4. Thanks for all the info, Mike! Taipei 101 was an interesting article (though I rarely trust Wiki! LOL) Being around that many people speaking the native language, you'll re-pickup the pronounciation fast, I'm sure! When I was in France I spoke nearly perfect French but I guess my accent was really bad because most all of them answered me in English! LOL

    Happy Thursday! :)
